Steven Portnoy was named the CBS News Radio White House correspondent following the election of President Trump. He previously served as the network’s congressional correspondent. A winner of multiple RTDNA Edward R. Murrow awards, Portnoy began his career in Washington in 2002 as an intern for the White House Unit of ABC News. He covered local news for three years at WMAL Radio before becoming an ABC News Radio correspondent in 2006. Portnoy reported for WSYR Radio and produced for WIXT-TV and WSTM-TV while earning his bachelor’s degree at the S.I. Newhouse School for Public Communications at Syracuse University. Portnoy is married and has two nephews proudly being raised in his native New Jersey.
