The White House Correspondents’ Association scholarship prize is a one-time award of $7,000.

Precious Osagie-Erese is a junior at Howard University and editor of its Hilltop Newspaper. She has been a Fox Business News College Associate, a CNN Situation Room intern with Wolf Blitzer, an editorial intern at CBSnews.com and CBS Interactive. Precious has also completed a production internship at WHUR-Glasshouse Radio. Precious has a particular interest in international catastrophes that are under-reported in the western press. She provides as an example the slaughter by Boko Haram of thousands of innocent people in her birth country of Nigeria. As a journalist Precious hopes to be a voice for people who have been silenced in communities devastated by tragedy
