The scholarship is a grant of $7,000 to each of two students.

Nancy Vu of Bowie, Maryland, is a sophomore earning her degree in Journalism. Nancy is a freelance writer for The Prince George’s Sentinel and a contributing writer to The Hilltop, Howard University’s student newspaper. She has also co-hosted WHBC 96.3 HD 3’s political commentary radio show, Urban Mischief, and worked as a production assistant on the #RolandMartinUnfiltered Daily Digital Show. In her career, Nancy wants to develop a platform for the Asian-American community that speaks to issues that affect them and plans to obtain a master’s degree in Asian American Studies.
