Hiba Dlewati

Hiba Dlewati of Detroit, Michigan, receives a $5,000 grant.

She is a graduate student pursuing a Master of Science degree in Documentary Filmmaking. She has been a National Geographic Fulbright Digital Storytelling Fellow and won the Overseas Press Club Scholar Award. When not enrolled in classes, Hiba travels frequently, most recently to Beirut. She is particularly interested in reporting on migration and its intersections with conflict, gender and climate change. Hiba’s goal is to become a foreign correspondent in the Middle East and Latin America.
