The White House Correspondents’ Association scholarship prize is a one-time award of $7,000.

Brandi Montgomery is a Howard University sophomore majoring in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in speech pathology. She is a contributing writer to The Hilltop and Elite Insiders and is a production intern at Cramton Auditorium at Howard. Brandi has extensive community service experience. She has been honored by a long list of associations and foundations. Last summer Brandi reported on the strenuous and sometimes dangerous training of cadets at Fort Knox in Kentucky. The experience confirmed her commitment to covering news, even under stressful conditions.
