Charlene Santiago of Canovanas, Puerto Rico, is an alumna of Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications. Charlene produced a Spanish documentary that covered the aftermath of Hurricane Maria and earned her 7th Place in the National Hearst Journalism Award for a Multimedia Feature. Charlene also is the recipient of the Maria Elena Salinas Scholarship and was named an Outstanding Undergraduate at ASU’s Hispanic Convocation.
